False Kamani for infant teething

Aloha Kakou,

Today is my annual turning point day which I often observe quietly, but I wanted to give back by sharing with you another of our family health secrets. My grandmother used this method on me and her children and my Dad has suggested it among his friends, to positive effect.

Before I start, I want to share a few links with you for differentiating between true kamani and false kamani. The two trees have a lot of similar features so make sure that you are sourcing FALSE KAMANI aka TERMINALIA CATAPPA for this remedy.

From The above article: False Kamani pods. Because seed pods are often present around the tree, looking for the seed shape is the easiest way to identify the tree.

False Kamani, scientifically known as "Terminalia Catappa" is a tree whose bark you can use for treating infants during the teething phase.

1. You want to collect some chunks of the outer bark of the tree from the main trunk and then gather it into a cloth, tie a knot to make a small bundle.

2. Next, you chew the bark whilst providing salivation to the bark and cloth. (This method is referred to as "mama", which is also used in feeding the young children.)

3. Your saliva will blend with the herbal flavor that is released through the cloth from the chewed bark and this is what you will apply to your child's gums , making sure to not let them swallow any of the solution. Let the salve sit for a minute or so and wipe away excess with a clean, soft cloth.

What you are doing is cleaning a toxin which is released upon the growing of new teeth from the gums, this toxin which travels to your child's stomach and makes them sick. This is a large part of why children cry so much during teething, it is not just because of the new teeth alone.

Well, I hope that this helps you. Feel free to respond with any questions you may have about this process.
